Sinopse

A wonderful gathering of many missionaries, former missionaries, supporters, other guests, organising staff and Board members, came together to mark the 110th Anniversary celebrations of Sudan United Mission (British Branch) / Action Partners - now known as Pioneers UK. Very much billed as a "family gathering", the keynote speaker was Dr David W. Smith, Senior Research Fellow at the International Christian College in Glasgow. He was minister of Eden Chapel in Cambridge, before moving to Nigeria to work with the Qua Iboe Church. David's Missionary service was followed by research into the causes of the secularisation of Europe at the University of Aberdeen. Subsequently David was Principal of Northumbria Bible College, then Co-Director of the Whitefield Research Institute in Oxford. He has published work on mission in today's world, including Mission After Christendom, Seeking A City With Foundations, and most recently, The Kindness of God: Christian Witness in our Troubled World. David is married to Joyce and they have two sons and two grandsons. The overall theme for the Conference was "Missions in Search of Mission - Finding the New Frontiers in a Globalised World".
