  • Food Sensitivity or Histamine Intolerance

    09/12/2020 Duração: 14min

Do you feel off after eating avocados, chocolate, nuts, spinach, legumes? Bloated with an upset stomach, fatigued, or a killer headache but can’t quite pinpoint what the culprit is? It may be your histamine release after eating certain foods. If you have histamine intolerance, then you will feel off when your body has trouble flushing histamine out. It’s super hard to diagnose since it can disguise itself as a food intolerance or seasonal allergy. And when released, it keeps your organs functioning and body working. Responsible for smoothing muscle tissue of the lungs, uterus, and dilating blood vessels, stimulating gastric acid in the stomach, and accelerating your heart rate. The problem starts when someone isn’t able to metabolize the histamine compound. Feeling bloated, headache, exhausted, anxious, and experiencing GI issues,

  • Nine Tips to Dealing with Depression

    30/07/2020 Duração: 17min

The mental disorder impacting approximately 300 million people, is depression, and affects women more than men. The highest depression rates were among young people, with 63% of teens and 47% of millennials.  Several factors increase the chance of depression, including past or current abuse, be it physical, and emotional. There can be biomedical imbalances that trigger depression, such as vitamin and mineral deficiencies and low neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and others. If you have a cortisol management issue, then you can be vulnerable to depression. • Natural Remedies to Prevent Leg Cramps

    21/07/2020 Duração: 07min

According to a study, 60% of adults say they’ve experienced leg cramps at night and more common in the summer. Some researchers believe that our modern lifestyle is to blame. Your food intake, meds, or standing habits may also play a role. The following health conditions are associated with an increase in leg cramping: pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, respiratory disease, MS depression, and artery disease.  Diuretic medications to lower blood pressure may trigger cramps because they deplete the body of fluid and salts. Other medications that can trigger leg cramps are asthma medication, synthetic and bio-identical estrogen hormone medication, and statins.  If your leg cramps are spontaneous and not exercise-related, it’s essential to see your doctor to rule out underlying concerns since cholesterol clogs blood vessels in the legs affecting blood flow. Hypothyroidism produces little amount of the thyroid hormone, and that deficiency can damage nerves that send signals from your spine and brain to

  • When are Kidney Stones more common?

    22/06/2020 Duração: 12min

Did you know there’s a higher prevalence of kidney stones in the summer? Kidney stones affect approximately 3.8 million people in the U.S. each year and they are especially more common in the summer. According to Mayo Clinic, heat, humidity and lack of proper hydration are factors increasing prevalence. If you are vulnerable to them then follow a low-oxalate diet to avoid oxalate buildup and a low-purine diet to avoid uric acid buildup. Oxalates are natural substances found in a wide variety of foods. Your body can produce oxalate on its own or get it from your food. Vitamin C can be converted into oxalate. High levels of oxalates are found in leafy green vegetables, spinach, bran flakes, rhubarb, beets, potato chips, French fries, nuts, and nut butter, to name a few. A health concern about oxalate is that it can bind to minerals in the gut preventing the body from absorbing them. Anyone who has taken antibiotics or suffers from gut issues may benefit from a low-oxalate diet. Too many oxalates may cause kidne
