This is the first of four episodes reporting on our 8-day cruise from Seward to Montague Island, which is about 65 miles east across the northern edge of the Gulf of Alaska. We anchored up every night in quiet bays, and spent the days fishing for salmon, rock fish, salmon, halibut, and more salmon.   First we hear from new friends of the podcast—Clinton and Julie Crites listened to the podcast while they drove from Georgia to Seward, Alaska with their daughter Jaelyn. Clinton shares some stories from their first experience living in Alaska, when they spent a year on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska.    Cherie and Pat Godar, friends who came along on the cruise with us, give the report on Day One of the trip as we were anchored up in Driftwood Bay. Wildlife spotting included Dall porpoises, Stellar sea lions, eagles, sea otters, cormorants, pigeon guillemots, harbor seals and a humpback whale.   Do you have a story to share, or a park you’d like others to know about?
