We crossed the north edge of the Gulf of Alaska to reach Montague Island, where we spent Day Two and Day Three of the 8-day cruise.    As we were anchored in Macleod Harbor the evening of Day Two, Cherie gave a report on our wildlife sighings while she was fishing for halibut at the stern of the Best Friends. She and I thought we’d seen Dall porpoises but we learned later they were harbor porpoises, Other sightings included Sitka blacktail deer, a humpback whale and seals. Larre and Pat were up on the sundeck, watching deer through their binoculars. They tell about trolling for salmon and losing part of one of the two down riggers.
