  • Episode 57 – Kody’s last episode (for now)

    16/03/2020 Duração: 58min

After a rough year for my own mental health, I've decided I need to take a break from this podcast. I just don't know that I have anything else to say after 57 episodes. Peter will taking over from here. Please feel free to reach out still, I will respond to any emails or tweets addressed to me Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 56 – What makes you happy?

    16/02/2020 Duração: 01h06min

Today we just talk about the little things that make us happy, because sometimes that's all we have to get through the day. Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 55 – It’s OK to take a break from your head

    21/01/2020 Duração: 52min

We all have intrusive thoughts from time to time, sometimes it feels like every day. These can lead to us spiraling into a cycle of negative self talk. We often worry that we aren't making enough improvements to ourselves fast enough and we tend to obsess over that stuff because we think if we don't, then we'll always be bad people and no one will like us. #anxietyisabitch. Just try to remind yourself that it's OK to take a break from your brain sometimes. It's OK to not constantly worry about "Am I a good person?" Especially because, in all actuality, you probably are doing just fine, your brain is just trying to convince you that you aren't. • Episode 54 – Winter BLOWS

    25/12/2019 Duração: 59min

We recorded this like a month ago and I'm just now getting around to posting it, mostly because of a total lack of motivation to exist as a human being because of how cold it is. My apologies. I'm not even sure what else to write here, just, seriously, fuck winter. Also, Happy whatever holiday you celebrate for the winter solstice. • Episode 53 – Spiritual health (part 4 of 4)

    03/12/2019 Duração: 55min

It's been a while! Peter and I recorded this episode a while ago but debated putting it up or not because the sound quality isn't as good as it usually is for some weird reason we couldn't figure out. Anyway, we hope you enjoy it nonetheless as we discuss spiritual health as the fourth part of our "self care square." This was a really interesting episode to record as we both have different views on where spirituality comes from, but managed to come to an agreement on what spirituality means and how it helps us be more healthy people. • Episode 52 – Financial health (part 3 of 4)

    19/10/2019 Duração: 01h22min

Ok, we said we were going to do a 4 part episode on our concept we randomly came up with called the self care square, and we didn't lie. Here's part 3 on financial health. If you don't remember from last year, the other 3 parts were physical health, mental health, and spiritual health. We'll give you some of our own advice based on our own experiences. If you aren't where we are at in this regard, don't feel bad about that. Life is not a race. • Episode 51ish – Don’t listen to this

    14/10/2019 Duração: 34min

Peter and I sat down to record and I think we were both kinda slap happy and exhausted and this is what happened as a result. No real topic, no coherent train of thought, no actually decent content. I don't even really think we can call it an episode. If you decide to listen, don't say I didn't warn you. Sorry. • Episode 50 – Conflict is Normal

    06/10/2019 Duração: 01h06min

Holy shit, we're at 50 episodes. Please ignore how many weeks it took. Today we talk about something that makes a lot of people anxious... conflict. Personally, any time I argue with someone I worry that they hate me. It's hard to remember that conflict is simply a part of life with other people, and the feeling of anger is not the same as hate. • Episode 49 – If you live in the moment then you owe me rent

    22/09/2019 Duração: 45min

I stole the title from a lyric from a Life of Dillon song so don't sue me, I'm giving credit to the artist. In this episode we talk about staying in the moment. Ooh look, a butterfly! As Lao Tzu said, "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present." I often find so many things to worry about, whether it's obsessing over that time I said "you too" in response to the waiter saying "enjoy your meal" or worrying about where you'll be in 5 years. It's like my brain needs something to feel bad about. Peter and I have been learning recently how much happier we can be when we learn to not give those thoughts our time and attention and stay in the moment. • Episode 48 – Kristof shits on Kody’s coffee table

    14/09/2019 Duração: 01h03min

Yes, my cat actually dropped a little turd on my coffee table while we recorded this episode. Yes, I still love him. This episode is actually about shame and labels. People will often try to put their own labels on us so that we fit some mold they have in their mind. The problem with this is, oftentimes those labels don't fully fit us so we feel like we have to bend ourselves in uncomfortable ways to fit those molds. Thing is, who gives a fuck what people think we are? We are what we decide to be. We are our actions. And there is no shame in being who we are. • Episode 47 – Coping with depression/anxiety in a professional world

    17/08/2019 Duração: 01h21s

Today we are going to try to tackle a pretty large issue. By no means can we cover everything related to this topic in just an hour, but we did our best. In today's world where professionalism takes precedence in almost every aspect of life and showing your emotional struggles to your boss risks getting fired because they'll think you don't like your job, how do we cope with things like depression and anxiety. Especially when we're spending 40 hours a week at a place where we have to put on a mask. Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 46 – Self-improvement?

    10/08/2019 Duração: 01h14min

Honestly, I don't remember all the stuff we talked about in this episode, I'm pretty sure we discuss progress in self improvement, but I have been so busy the past two weeks I don't have time to listen to the whole episode to remember everything we talked about. Anyway, if I'm correct and we mostly talked about self improvement, here's the description for that. If not, I'll edit this later. Our journey through life is not a linear one. Self-improvement is not a straight line. Shit happens, we fuck up, we fall down. What's important is learning how to take care of yourself well enough so that you can get up, dust yourself off, and keep going no matter what. But there's nothing wrong with laying there in the dirt for a little while after a fall. Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 45 – The Masks we Wear

    20/07/2019 Duração: 01h07min

This episode is kind of all over the place, buuuuut, the main focus is to discuss how we all have a tendency to wear masks based on who we're with, and then we get all frustrated at ourselves for not being confident enough to be our "true selves" or something along those lines. The truth is, these "masks" are just as much a part of us as our eye color or desire to raid Area 51 to satiate our alien fetish. They give us a bit of safety to explore who we are and only reveal the truest parts of ourselves when we're good and ready. It's OK to love all the versions of yourself. • Episode 44 – Kody gets asked to do porn

    13/07/2019 Duração: 01h13min

Literally gonna post basically the same description as last episode because, again, it's been awhile. We'll explain in the episode. Stick around until the end to understand the title of this episode. Or just skip to it, whatever, you do you. It felt really good to record this, like seriously therapeutic. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Serious question, does anyone actually read these episode descriptions? Genuinely curious. • Episode 43 – Continental Dong

    10/04/2019 Duração: 01h14min

Shit guys, long time no see. Sorry about that, our fault. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. We've missed you. this episode is mostly just full of random shit, catching up on lost time. It felt really good to record this, like seriously therapeutic. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Serious question, does anyone actually read these episode descriptions? Genuinely curious. Anyway, if you want to know why this episode is called "Continental Dong" just give the episode an ear taste. • Episode 42 – How to set realistic goals

    23/01/2019 Duração: 47min

With it being January and all, a lot of you probably have some resolutions for areas of your life you'd like to improve. Kody already hurt himself in the gym trying to get back to his pre-mono workout routine and is on prescribed muscle relaxers for this episode, so it's even more wonky of an episode than usual. We explain what goals we have for 2019 and dole out major life events we would like to happen this year, but we also resolve to not be disappointed if they don't all happen. What matters is our efforts, not the results. After all, life is a journey, not a race (especially since the finish line involves a casket). As Picard once said, "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life." • Episode 41 – F*ck new year new me. New year, be you!

    06/01/2019 Duração: 56min

#NewYearRealMe Kody is out again this episode and this time, it's just me. Peter. Jesus take the wheel. This episode we'll talk about what it means to really settle in to being whoever it is you are and discuss the bullshit that people grow up with where you're supposed to go to school, get a job, and do that one thing for the rest of your life until you're dead. That's bullshit! People have many dimensions. I, for example, like to dance like a fucking idiot. So what you're an accountant, who says you can't also be the best damn cook you can be? Or what if you're a video editor, you can be a fitness model too. Or whatever! Don't put yourself in a box, let 2019 be the year that you take yourself out of the box that YOU put yourself in dammit. Do some cool shit this year! -- -Peter Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 40 – The Anniversary Special!

    31/12/2018 Duração: 01h58min

Man, to think, it's been a year already. Thank you so much to anyone who's listened in this crazy year we've had! The new year makes for such a good time to reflect on all the progress we've made in the past 365 days. We reflect on past episodes and concisely (well, kind of) explain where we believe we've made progress in those areas of our lives. It seems difficult to continue down the holes of self-loathing, depression, or anxiety when we look back and focus not on the failures we've had in the past, but instead to see how far we've come. We encourage you to do the same, think about what you were struggling with just one year ago today. We bet it's a lot easier than it was. Thank you again to all of our listeners! If you actually listen to all 2 hours of this then holy f*ck, you deserve a medal. We believe in you and we hope you've had as spectacular a 2018 as we've had.Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 39 – Inside the mind of the 2018 teen (ft. My sister Casey)

    16/12/2018 Duração: 01h59min

This episode is about getting inside the mind of someone currently in high school and just random chit chat about various topics including mental health, comedic nonsense, what kids think about therapy, Buffalo Wild Wings (which we did end up getting), social media and the impact on kids her age vs older generations, and a bunch of other random stuff. Thanks Casey for putting up with me for 2 hours!  Reach us @tifupod on Twitter, [email protected], or give us a call, text or leave a voicemail @ 401-314-8438

  • Episode 38 – Mental health (part 2 of 4)

    11/12/2018 Duração: 01h13min

This episode is about the second corner of our so called "self care square" (someone, please, help us come up with a less corny name for this).  We talk all about mental health and what that means to us.  Things such as self appreciation, putting yourself first, and respecting boundaries.  These are all tough things to achieve in a world where we never quite feel like we're good enough people, where we're all hyper aware of the problems facing humanity, and most of us just want to make the world a better place.  I posit this question, however, rather than constantly sacrificing to try to make everyone around us happy, wouldn't ensuring our own happiness first create a net positive in worldwide happiness, therefore making it a better place by default?  It's like in airplane crashes when the oxygen masks come down, they always tell you to secure your own mask before helping anyone else.  Anyway, I'm not sure we have an all encompassing answer to this question, but let's talk about it.
