Border enforcement, land management bill redefines borders 100 miles inland from coasts

BTC - A new house bill sponsored by Rep. Bishop (R-UT) would allow a DHS policy waiver of 36 federal laws to construct US border fences to become law.  The National Security and Federal Lands Protection bill would change border definitions, expanding the reach of federal border enforcement 100 miles inland from coast to coast.   From the bill: (c) CLARIFICATION RELATING TO WAIVER AUTHORITY.—(1) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other  provision of law (including any termination date re-lating to the waiver referred to in this subsection),the waiver by the Secretary of Homeland Securityon April 1, 2008, under section 102(c)(1) of the Ille-gal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsi-bility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1103 note; Public Law104–208) of the laws described in paragraph (2)with respect to certain sections of the internationalborder between the United States and Mexico andbetween the United States and Canada shall be con-sidered to apply to all sections of the
