Lee Thomas, deputy commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office, discusses the economic impact and value that the Georgia film industry brings to the state of Georgia. The Georgia Department of Economic Development has successfully brought major motion pictures and television productions to the state, including “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” “The Blind Side,” “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” “Footloose,” “Fast 5,” “The Conspirator” and “Zombieland.” She also talks about the Film Tax Credit and other incentives that Georgia uses to bring these productions to the state. A native of Atlanta, Lee has worked for the Brooklyn Arts Council and earned a bachelor of art degree from UGA and an MFA in film studies from Georgia State University.
